Gift in Kind items for animals in our care are greatly appreciated. We are happy to accept gift cards, new and unopened supplies for cats, dogs, and small animals and even gently used items that have been cleaned and are safe for our people and pets to use.

For the safety and health of our animals, we are unable to accept opened animal supplies.

How to Donate:
  • Small Gifts: Under 100 lbs., smaller quantities, less than 2 garbage bags worth.
    • These donations can be brought to EHS anytime and left in the large green drop-off bin located outside of our main entrance. This bin is checked Monday thru Friday, in the morning and afternoons.
  • Large Gifts: Over 100lb., multiple quantities, or those requiring assistance to unload.

  • Medical Supplies: Please book in advance to donate, so our team can ensure safe and secure handling of these priority items.

Gift Card Store List: Most needed include places like Walmart, Home Depot, Canadian Tire, PetSmart, Mr. Pet’s and Superstore.

Opened food, newspaper, pillows, stuffed blankets, exotic animal supplies, used scratch posts, bird cages or any used item which is not cleaned prior to being dropped off.

Donate a Car

Donate A Car Canada accepts Vehicle Donations for Edmonton Humane Society. We provide free towing in many areas across Canada, or you can drop off your vehicle to maximize your donation.

When you Donate your RV, boat, motorcycle or other vehicle to the Edmonton Humane Society through Donate A Car Canada, it will either be recycled or sold at auction depending on its condition, age and location. Donate A Car Canada will look after all the details to make it easy for your donation to benefit EHS. After your vehicle donation is complete, the Edmonton Humane Society will send you a tax receipt within 45 days.

If you have an item you wish to donate and it does not appear on our wish list please call us first at 780-491-3507 to verify if it is needed. Surplus items will be placed in our pet supply store for sale or will be distributed to other rescue organizations.

In one year, it takes approximately 7 million dollars to keep the Edmonton Humane Society operational. 40% of these funds come from generous donations made by supporters like you.
