Hello, my name is
Years Months Weeks
Hi, I'm Mary!
Hi there! I heard you were looking for a feline friend to add to your family! What about me? I'm fluffy, cute and a whole lot of fun! I may be cute and little now, but I'm going to grow up soon! I know I can be a little shy, but I know with your help, I can be the most confident kitty! Please take the time to teach me appropriate behaviour like showing me where my litterbox is and where I can scratch! I won't know unless you tell me and it's natural for me to do! Please be patient with me as I gain confidence, I just want to make sure everything is ok before I put myself out there. I will need lots of space to run around and someone to play with me every day! I will learn every time I experience something new, so let's make those experiences good ones together! I can't wait to find my new best friends and fur-ever home soon!
Behaviour Observed in Shelter:
- Some social behaviour with humans
- Higher levels of independence in shelter
- Fearful behaviours in shelter
May Be Prone To:
- Fearful behaviour in new or unfamiliar situations (meeting new people, visiting the vet etc)
- More independent behaviour in a home
- Some attention seeking behaviour
- May take longer to adjust to new environments
Recommendations:
- Mental & physical stimulation to help build confidence (games, puzzles, training etc)
- Slow introductions to new and unfamiliar situations, people and places
- Create positive associations by ensuring that social behaviour is rewarded and interaction is never forced
- Frequent play to build confidence and give something new and engaging to focus on
This animal is still awaiting spay / neuter surgery so is not ready to go home today. However, a deposit can be placed on the animal so that it can be held for an interested adopter.
