Hi, I'm Mel C. I just arrived at EHS Sept 30 along with my 3 sisters and brother. The staff here are still getting to know me and my personality so check back soon for updates.
This animal is still awaiting spay / neuter surgery so is not ready to go home today. However, a deposit can be placed on the animal so that it can be held for an interested adopter.
Behaviour Observed in Shelter: - Excitability - Social behaviour with humans - Tolerance to touch - Playful behaviour May Be Prone To: - Mouthing behaviours during play - High energy - Attention seeking behaviours - Boredom if not provided with stimulation Recommendations: - Ample mental & physical stimulation (games, puzzles, training etc) - Redirection of mouthing behaviours onto a toy or other appropriate item - Daily play avoiding use of hands directly in play (ex, use feather wand instead of wrestling) - Reward calm behaviours with attention and handling, remove attention when behaviour becomes excitable
