Frequently Asked Questions

While we do our best to ensure that children have ample opportunities to interact with live animals, due to the nature of our work, and the unpredictability of our animal population at any given time, we are unable to guarantee animal interactions in any of our programs.

At EHS, an animal interaction can consist of either physically interacting with a live animal or observing our current shelter residents. Throughout camps, we provide educational instruction and discuss topics such as Animal Welfare and Identifying Body Language in Companion Animals, encouraging participants to use this meaningful knowledge to foster respectful interactions with all animals throughout their lifetime.

Our summer camps will open for booking around mid-May each year. We recommend that you follow us on social media and sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date with our most recent announcements.

While you can absolutely enroll your child in multiple weeks of camp, please be aware that some activities and the overall structure will repeat or be similar in nature.

EHS aims to provide camps during different school breaks throughout the year such as Fall, Winter, Spring Break and PD days (subject to sufficient staffing resources). We recommend that those interested in our camp offerings follow us on social media and sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date with our most recent announcements.

If you are an educator who would like to facilitate one of our programs with your class but are facing financial restrictions, please contact us today to discuss options.
